RAFA
2024
PROGRAM
In line with the concept of the previous events, RAFA 2024
Symposium
will
provide an overview
of contemporary trends in the ANALYTICAL & BIOANALYTICAL STRATEGIES IN FOOD
QUALITY
AND
SAFETY CONTROL and discuss the CHALLENGES AND NOVEL APPROACHES IN
FOOD
AND NATURAL PRODUCTS
ANALYSIS. Following tentative RECENT & EMERGING ISSUES
will be
addressed in the RAFA 2024
sessions:
Experts from the Walloon Agricultural Research Center in Belgium will organize traditional
workshop designed to equip participants with basic and advanced knowledge in vibrational
spectroscopy and chemometrics.
PROGRAM of
the workshop
Interactive demonstration of general approaches to fast development and troubleshooting in laboratory focused on food quality and safety control will be provided. The moderators will introduce interesting real-life case studies with various conceivable scenarios for each step in the method development (including both sample preparation and instrumental analysis) and/or for each troubleshooting problem. Attendees will be invited to identify the most suitable solution using an anonymous online voting; discussion about each presented option will follow. Attendees will have a possibility to check their knowledge, present their experience and, last but not least, win special prizes by participating in a short quiz.
AOAC INTERNATIONAL will organize this new session on validation and harmonization of food analysis methods with the focus on dietary fiber and other carbohydrates, food allergens, chemical residues & contaminants (PFAS, ethylene oxide, pyrrolizidine alkaloids etc.), non-targeted testing, or development of best practices for the use of bioassays in food testing.
Ensuring the integrity of the food we consume in terms of the ever increasing challenges to the safety and authenticity are substantial. Substantial research efforts are being undertaken between researchers in the EU and Asia regions to tackle many of these important challenges. Work undertaken by researchers in both regions but with a strong focus on advancing food safety and authenticity in Asia will be presented during the two sessions dedicated to this topic.
AOAC Europe is also pleased to invite you at RAFA 2024 Satellite Harmonisation Workshop that is organised
on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Clarion Congress Hotel Prague.
Registration is FREE, more information about the program and how to register at https://aoaceurope.com/
The workshop "Opportunities to collaborate in a European research and innovation area" provides an overview of opportunities for food scientists to participate in the Horizon Europe programme. It explores collaboration opportunities and innovation support offered by EIT Food, including programmes dedicated to students, start-ups, researchers, and governments. The workshop also presents examples of EIT Food-supported projects and activities, as well as projects and initiatives within the European Research Area.
This workshop is organised as a side event of RAFA 2024.
